The Jeff and Mitzi Hunt family would like to thank you for taking the time to visit our website. Our ranch is 30 miles south of Dupree located in the heart of the Cheyenne River Sioux Indian Reservation. The rough and rugged Cherry Creek runs through our land, which also adjoins the breaks and buttes along the historic Cheyenne River. Our range consists of big, wide open country giving the horses we raise and ride an advantage to develop more in tune with what nature intended.
Raising good cattle and good horses goes back generations deep in our entire family heritage. In 1923 Jeff’s grandfather, Albert Lopez, came from Trinidad, Colorado to Mossman, South Dakota as a Top Hand for the Diamond A Cattle Company. Albert stayed in South Dakota and established a life-long reputation of raising the best of ranch and using horses in South Dakota. Following Grandfather Albert’s example, our goal has always been to continue that rich tradition by offering horses that are bred for intelligence, keen minds, athletic ability with style, conformation, color, and stamina that can work in the arena or at home on the ranch.
We invite you to view our on-line catalog. We have an outstanding and colorful offering of weanlings, yearlings, twos, threes, and older horses. If you have any questions, please give us a call or email us.
